Liberal Lie- Christians are Homophobes

Merriam Webster’s Definition of homophobia;
irrational fear of, aversion to, or discrimination against homosexuality or homosexuals

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

We Love All People

Many liberals in the media, and on blogs have taken to calling Christians who hold to the Biblical teaching on marriage and same-sex relations homophobes. They use this word because it has very negative connotations as seen in its definition. There are those who are homophobes, both in the secular world and in various religious organizations. However Christian are not homophobic. We love all people, but we will not allow personal sexual, or relational desires to override the Word of God. We have a personal relationship with the only living God.

He Opened Our Eyes to the Truth

We are not Christians because we think it’s better than other religions we are Christians because at some point the good news of Jesus Christ was shared with us, and we placed out faith in Jesus Christ as He moved in our hearts and opened our eyes to the truth. Homosexuals are not any more or less in need of repentance and salvation than any of us were before we were saved from our own sins.

True Love is Worth the Cost

Many homosexuals have been saved and are joyful members of the family of God. They do not feel like they are being asked to give up the chance at true love, because they have found true love in the person of Jesus Christ who will never leave them or forsake them. The argument that becoming a Christian is not worth the cost goes out the window for anyone who experiences the peace and love that comes from a relationship with Jesus.

We Love You

The media will continue its hateful attack on Christians who stand for their beliefs as long as people will listen to their lies. All Bible believing Christians should agree that we do not want to discriminate against, do not have an irrational fear of, or an aversion to homosexuals as people. We stand for the scriptures not against homosexuals. We will always support the Biblical definition of marriage, because when we are married it is a covenant with God not a legal contract with the state. Christians want all sinners, even the ones who seem to be perfect people by the worlds standards, to repent and join the family of God by placing their faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Jesus loves you and we love you too.

  1. I don’t get it, Robert. You define homophobia as “irrational aversion” then you display your irrational aversion then you claim not to be homophobic. Did you reread what you had written? Or do you not have ears to hear?

  2. I understand your point of view. However, what you are calling an “irrational aversion” is simply my acceptance that the Bible is the Word of God. In October of 1998 I became a Christian and for the first time in my life I understood the words “I once was blind but now I see.” I began reading the Bible, and because the Holy Spirit of God now lived in me, I was able to understand the Bible for the first time in my life. These things are spiritually understood, and I do not expect those who are unspiritual to be able to understand them. My article is expressing frustration with the fact that the media portrays Christians as hating homosexuals and that simply is not accurate. Christians desire that all sinners accept that they are separated from God, and place their hope and faith in Jesus Christ, so that they will be in a right relationship with God. There are many liars, thieves, idolaters, and sexually immoral people who reject the teaching of scripture, and Christian’s are not accused of hating these people when they share the gospel message with them.
