The Bible is abundantly clear on the topic of salvation. If a person has been saved then Jesus Christ is the Lord of their life. If you want to better understand salvation you should research the word Lord. Most Christians have made mistakes and still struggle between the world and the flesh as we seek to become more like our Lord.
I can honestly say that I often find myself doing things I do not want to do (sinning) and not doing the things that I want to do. I’m not claiming that when I sin I do not have a desire to sin, but that I have a new nature that fights against my old nature so that even though my flesh is tempted and wants to sin my new nature does not want to sin and there is a battle within. Jesus is the Lord of my life and that causes me to want to obey His commands and I regret it every time I fail yet I still fail.
There are those who claim that Jesus is Lord yet they do not show any desire to serve Him. They fail and they are satisfied with their sins. This is why true followers of Jesus are called hypocrites. The world sees that we reject sin yet we still fall into sin. What the world does not see is our hearts and our inward battle. All who have been saved and filled with the Holy Spirit desire to walk in the Spirit but that is a daily decision and a difficult one to make while we are constantly bombarded with every sort of temptation, with frustration, with stress, and while we have so few role models of godliness.
When I sin I do not publicly boast about it. I repent because I hate that I have failed to bring my flesh into submission as my Lord requires. Despite my failures my Lord knows my heart and He has paid the price that I could not pay. Jesus is my Lord and my Savior. When you see me fail or hear that I have failed please know that I have never claimed to be holier than thou and I am 100% dependent upon Jesus Christ for my salvation. Jesus is my Lord I will not condone sin just because I am weak. I will repent as many times as I recognize that I have sinned and I will tell others to repent and be forgiven.
When Jesus is Lord the goal is to be like Him. To be sinless is one of the ways that we strive to be like Him. We are told in scripture that we are to sin no more but that if we do sin we have an advocate in Heaven that will forgive our sins. Too many people are rejecting Christ as Lord and still claiming that they have been forgiven. They boast about sin instead of repenting. Lord have mercy on me a sinner- I want to be forgiven so I am not trying to judge- I am trying to share truth. YOU MUST MAKE JESUS LORD IF YOU ARE TO BE SAVED. Repent.
Those who will make Jesus Lord in this life will spend eternity with Him in the next despite our weaknesses. The Bible says there will be no sinners in Heaven but those who trust in Jesus as Lord will not have any sin because we have repented and Jesus has paid for all of our sins past, present, and future. Those who reject Him as Lord in this life and boast in their sin will for eternity confess from Hell that Jesus was, is, and always will be Lord of all.
These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. (Revelation 17:14)
