There’s a Christian college that’s taking a stand. They’ve come up with a policy that says they will fire anyone in support of gay marriage. They’re doing this because that stance does not line up with their teaching. Biblical teaching.
I was just reading comments on the article and one girl was quoting Mark 7:5 accusing the college of being like the Pharisees mentioned in this verse. Here’s the verse.
Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands? (Mark 7:5)
While she’s toatly cool and hip for quoting this verse she’s also dead wrong. Let’s look at Jesus conclusion in Mark 7:9.
And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition. (Mark 7:9)
Jesus wasn’t telling the Pharasees they weren’t being cool. He was telling them they were wrapped up in their own culture and beliefs to the point that they were not willing to submit to God’s commands. Liberal “Christians” are the ones taking the Pharisees place. They want to make God fit their ideas. They want Him to be cool with homosexuals. Doesn’t God see what great fashion sense they have? Doesn’t God know how funny they are on tv shows?
God’s not impressed. It’s God’s commands that make homosexuality a sin not mans opinions. I’m a sinner just like them. God loves them. But I can’t expect that Christian organizations should tolerate my sins or their sins.
One young woman refers to this as an attempt at brainwashing. Chrisitans are people of God’s Word. We willingly submit to His teachings. We know how to repent because His Word tells us wrong from right. I’m sick of the blind accusations that God’s now okay with people being unwilling to submit to His teachings. It’s a lie.
Let’s love one another. Let’s show God’s grace and mercy to the world. Let’s always stand up for what is right. Don’t conform to this world. Stop drinking the humanistic kool aid. There’s God’s way and then there’s sin.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.(Romans 12:2)
